HGV Class 1 Driver

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for  HGV Drivers to join a busy temperature-controlled distribution operation in the Preston area. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Class 1 driver seeking stable work, strong earnings, and varied driving duties.

The role:

You will be responsible for palletised deliveries in refrigerated trailers carrying multi-temperature loads to nationwide regional distribution centres. 

The work also includes some loading and unloading using a pallet truck, plus bulker deliveries to and from farms. 

A full induction and assessment process will be carried out for all successful candidates.

Pay and earnings:

• Basic day rate: £15.00 per hour.
• Basic night rate: £16.00 per hour.
• Weekend day rate: £17.50 per hour.
• Weekend night rate: £18.50 per hour.
• Meal allowance: £7.00 per shift.
• Phone allowance: £1.00 per shift.
• Night out payment: £26.20.
• Services, parking, and tolls are fully paid.
• plus additional allowances and average annual earnings of £50,000 to £60,000

Shift patterns:

• 4 on / 4 off rotation, including day, night, and weekend work

Key responsibilities:

• Drive Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally.
• Transport goods and materials over short and long distances.
• Ensure cargo is secured correctly.
• Complete vehicle checks and report any mechanical or safety issues. 
• Maintain accurate driving records and follow all transport regulations.
• Carry out pallet truck work where required.
• Represent Blue Recruitment Personnel and the client professionally at all times.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 / C+E licence.
• CPC and digital tachograph card.
• Proven HGV driving experience.
• Good understanding of road safety and driver compliance.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work on a rotating shift pattern.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
