Job Description:

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for a Support Worker in the South-East London area, offering a salary of up to £28,000 per annum. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, reliable person who enjoys supporting children and wants to make a real difference in a child-centred environment.

The role:

You will support children and young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing and day-to-day development, helping to create a safe, positive and stable environment. 

The role suits someone who is naturally warm, patient and dependable, with the ability to build trust and work as part of a busy team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with day-to-day care and routines.
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Support with activities, meals, personal care and general wellbeing where required.
  • Keep accurate notes, records and handovers.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals when needed.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and company procedures at all times.
  • Remain flexible to work across a rota covering Monday to Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children is essential.
  • Experience in a residential setting is desirable, but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people.
  • A kind, patient and resilient attitude.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

Suitable experience:

This role would suit someone with experience in children’s residential care, youth support, education support, social care or another caring role. 

It may also suit someone with the right personal qualities who is committed to supporting children and learning on the job.
