The Role:
Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in the Berkshire area.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the safe, compliant and therapeutic delivery of care, with full accountability for Ofsted registration, staff performance and the positive outcomes of every young person placed.
Shift Pattern:
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day leadership and operational management of the home.
Maintain Ofsted registration and ensure full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Lead, supervise and develop a motivated staff team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Oversee safeguarding, risk management and health and safety systems to keep children safe.
Manage care planning, placement matching and key work to achieve positive outcomes for children.
Work collaboratively with families, local authorities, schools and external professionals.
Control budgets, staffing levels and resources effectively.
Drive quality assurance, audit and improvement initiatives across the service.
Participate in the on-call rota and respond to operational needs as they arise.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Eligible to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
Minimum two years’ recent management experience within children’s residential care.
Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding practice.
Excellent leadership, communication, financial management and people management skills.
Commitment to therapeutic, child-focused care and positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Suitable Experience:
You will be a confident, hands-on leader with a proven track record of managing a children’s home to a Good or better Ofsted standard.
You will understand the pressures of residential care, be able to make sound decisions under pressure and inspire your team to deliver high-quality, compliant support.
