The Role:
Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead an independent fostering agency’s service in the North London area.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall management, quality and compliance of the fostering service, with a clear focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
You will provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership, ensuring the service meets Ofsted requirements, National Minimum Standards for Fostering and all relevant safeguarding legislation.
Shift Pattern:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to attend meetings, inspections and occasional out-of-hours commitments as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the fostering service, including recruitment, assessment, approval, training and supervision of foster carers
Ensure robust compliance with Ofsted regulations, National Minimum Standards and fostering legislation
Oversee case management practice, safeguarding processes and quality assurance systems
Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, partner agencies and stakeholders
Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance
Manage and develop a team of supervising social workers and administrative staff
Monitor performance data, complaints and incidents, implementing improvements where needed
Contribute to service development, policy review and strategic planning
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Substantial experience within fostering or local authority children’s services
Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role within a fostering service
Strong understanding of fostering legislation, safeguarding and the National Minimum Standards
Experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections with a strong compliance record
Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Suitable Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a fostering management or senior supervising role
Demonstrable track record of managing a fostering service to a high standard
Experience working with complex cases and high-needs children and young people
Familiarity with Form F assessments, panel processes and carer support frameworks
