The Role:
Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join a well-established environmental services provider.
This role focuses on delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), water system compliance, and hygiene services across London and the South of England, with occasional nationwide travel.
The successful candidate will carry out temperature monitoring, tank cleaning, TMV servicing, and water sampling, ensuring full compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and British Standards.
Shift Pattern:
Key Responsibilities:
– Carry out temperature monitoring and other planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
– Clean and maintain cold water storage tanks.
– Service Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
– Perform showerhead descaling and cleaning.
– Conduct cleaning and disinfection procedures on water systems.
– Collect water samples and submit them for analysis to a UKAS-accredited laboratory.
– Perform site inspections of water systems to assess compliance and condition.
– Produce accurate and detailed technical reports.
– Work to agreed schedules and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
– Maintain accurate records, complete documentation, and carry out administrative tasks.
– Provide commercial support as required.
Requirements:
– Minimum of 4 years’ experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or Legionella risk management.
– Full understanding of ACoP L8, HSG274, and relevant British Standards.
– Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Flexible approach to workload and travel requirements.
