HGV Class 1 Driver

The Role

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to support busy transport operations across the Northampton area.

Available work can include trunking, general haulage, multi-drop deliveries and distribution work, depending on the assignment.

You will be expected to operate safely, complete deliveries professionally and follow all transport, tachograph and site procedures.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, with day, night, weekend and tramper shifts available depending on the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly.

• Complete deliveries and collections according to route plans.

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.

• Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road transport regulations.

• Secure loads correctly before and during each journey.

• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.

• Maintain communication with transport planners and customers.

• Follow site, health and safety procedures.

• Represent Blue Recruitment Personnel and the client professionally.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence.

• Driver CPC qualification.

• Digital tachograph card.

• Recent relevant Class 1 driving experience.

• Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements.

• Reliable and flexible approach to working hours.

• Good communication skills.

• No more than the permitted number of licence points, subject to insurer requirements.

Suitable Experience

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV C+E Driver, trunking driver, multi-drop driver, distribution driver, general haulage driver or tramper driver.
