HGV Class 1 ADR Driver

The Role

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for qualified HGV Class 1 ADR Drivers to support specialist transport operations across the Northampton area. The role involves the safe transportation of regulated and hazardous goods, with assignments available across fuel, tanker, chemical, industrial and general ADR transport depending on the operation.

You will be expected to maintain a high standard of safety, compliance and professionalism while completing deliveries and collections on schedule.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, with day, night, weekend and occasional overnight shifts available depending on the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely and professionally.

• Transport ADR-regulated goods in accordance with current legislation.

• Complete delivery and collection routes within agreed timescales.

• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.

• Complete all required ADR, vehicle and transport documentation.

• Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and Working Time regulations.

• Secure loads correctly and carry out safety checks throughout each journey.

• Follow loading, unloading and site-specific safety procedures.

• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers and site contacts.

• Respond appropriately to incidents, delays or changes to delivery instructions.

• Maintain a professional standard when representing the transport operation.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence.

• Current Driver CPC qualification.

• Valid digital tachograph card.

• Current ADR licence relevant to the goods being transported.

• Recent experience in ADR, tanker, hazardous goods or specialist transport.

• Strong understanding of ADR, drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements.

• Reliable and safety-conscious approach.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Willingness to work flexible shifts where required.

• No more than the permitted number of licence points, subject to insurer requirements.

Suitable Experience

This opportunity would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 ADR Driver, LGV C+E ADR Driver, tanker driver, fuel delivery driver, hazardous goods driver, chemical transport driver or specialist haulage driver.
