Job Description:

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a respected automotive dealership in the Croydon area.

This is a permanent Monday-to-Friday opportunity for a qualified technician with proven UK workshop diagnostic experience.

The Role:

You will work within a professional, busy workshop, carrying out advanced diagnostics, fault-finding and repairs across a range of vehicles.

This role would suit someone who is confident using modern diagnostic technology, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and can work effectively with minimal supervision.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30
  • No weekend work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical and electronic vehicle faults accurately
  • Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance work to a high standard
  • Use up-to-date manufacturer and diagnostic equipment to investigate complex faults
  • Complete repair work efficiently while following workshop procedures
  • Ensure all work meets required safety, quality and performance standards
  • Maintain clear and accurate job cards, diagnostic reports and repair records
  • Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and responsibly
  • Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues, service advisors and management

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
  • At least two years’ experience in a UK automotive workshop environment
  • Demonstrable experience in vehicle diagnostics, fault-finding and repair
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge across a range of vehicle systems
  • Confident using diagnostic equipment, workshop tools and repair methods
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own tools
  • Permanent right to live and work in the UK
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • Ability to work independently and contribute positively within a team

Suitable Experience:

This position is ideal for a Vehicle Technician, Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician with hands-on UK dealership, independent garage or professional workshop experience.

You must be ready to take ownership of diagnostic work from day one and have the technical ability to resolve a broad range of vehicle faults.
