Don't be a victim, stay vigilant
Have you received an unsolicited WhatsApp or Telegram message from someone claiming to represent Blue Recruitment Personnel?
If so, it is likely fraudulent. Blue Recruitment Personnel does not initiate conversations via WhatsApp or Telegram.
We have recently become aware of fraudulent individuals impersonating recruiters, including Blue Recruitment Personnel, on platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. These imposters typically promote fake job adverts and attempt to collect personal information and, in some cases, financial details.
This scam targets job seekers, offering fake job opportunities to obtain sensitive information or demand payment.
If you are contacted on WhatsApp or Telegram by someone claiming to be from Blue Recruitment Personnel and suspect it to be a phishing scam, please block the number immediately and report the message to 7726 – a free reporting service provided by UK phone operators.
For more information on recognising phishing messages and what steps to take, please visit the Action Fraud website here: https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing
Tips for identifying phishing scams:
- The message is unsolicited or unexpected.
- It comes from an unfamiliar number or email address.
- The message contains suspicious links – do not click on them.
- It offers unrealistically high salaries or benefits.
- It asks for personal information or payment details, such as your CV or banking info.
- The message is poorly written with spelling or grammar errors.
Please remember: Blue Recruitment Personnel will never charge job seekers any fees for finding work, nor do we support any form of payment for recruitment services. Any recruitment-related costs should be covered by the employer.
