Job Description:

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Children’s Home Manager to join a growing residential care organisation in the Leicestershire area. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong, compassionate leader to help shape a high-quality children’s home and make a lasting difference to young people’s lives.

The Role:

This position will suit someone who can lead from the front, build a positive home culture, and ensure the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, supporting staff, and helping children achieve better outcomes through safe, stable, and therapeutic care.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 09:00 to 17:00
  • 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the home to deliver outstanding care in line with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted expectations.
  • Support, guide, and develop the staff team to create a consistent and nurturing environment.
  • Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and placement stability.
  • Work closely with internal professionals to support therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
  • Monitor performance, compliance, and quality standards across the home.
  • Help maintain a positive, child-centred culture from the outset.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children’s residential setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete.
  • A resilient, compassionate leader with the ability to establish a positive culture.
  • Commitment to therapeutic, trauma-informed care and improving outcomes for children.

Suitable Experience:

This role would suit an experienced children’s residential leader with a background in managing staff, maintaining compliance, and delivering high standards of care. 

Experience of working within therapeutic environments and supporting children with complex needs would be highly beneficial.

What We Offer:

  • Salary of £60,000 per year.
  • Option to complete Level 7.
  • Performance-related bonus of up to £6,000 annually, based on Ofsted rating, compliance, and occupancy.
  • Additional on-call payments.
  • 30 days annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays.
