Diagnostic Technician

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a respected independent automotive workshop in the East Sussex area.

This permanent opportunity offers £38,000–£42,000 per annum for a capable technician with advanced diagnostic expertise and a high standard of workmanship.

The Role:

You will take ownership of complex fault diagnosis, servicing and repair work across premium vehicles, including hybrid models.

Working as part of an established workshop team, you will use your technical knowledge to accurately identify issues, complete repairs efficiently, and ensure every vehicle leaves the workshop to the required quality and safety standards.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday, full-time hours
• Occasional Saturday work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work on premium and hybrid vehicles
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Complete vehicle health checks and clearly report identified work to the service team
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Investigate faults methodically and provide accurate repair recommendations
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Maintain strong productivity while delivering consistently high-quality workmanship
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Ensure repair orders, job cards and workshop documentation are completed accurately
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Follow health, safety and workshop procedures at all times
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Keep tools, equipment and working areas clean, organised and safe

Requirements:

• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>At least five years’ continuous experience in a Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Technician or similar automotive role
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Previous dealer-level diagnostic experience
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Experience working on premium, luxury or technically advanced vehicles
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Confidence working independently and prioritising work in a busy workshop
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Full UK driving licence
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>IMI Level 3 qualification or equivalent is preferred
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0″>Knowledge of hybrid vehicle servicing and repair procedures would be advantageous

Suitable Experience:

This role would suit a Diagnostic Technician, Senior Vehicle Technician, Master Technician or experienced Motor Mechanic with a proven background in complex vehicle diagnostics, electrical fault finding and high-quality repair work.

Candidates from dealership, independent specialist or prestige automotive workshop environments are encouraged to apply.
