Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer for a well-established Yorkshire contractor working across affordable homes, private housing and residential care home developments in the Castleford area. 

This is an urgent opportunity for a technically strong construction professional who can take ownership of engineering matters from land bid stage through to delivery.

The Role:

You will play a key part in supporting residential development projects from early feasibility through to site delivery, working closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure engineering design, drainage and technical matters are progressed accurately and efficiently. 

This role would suit someone with a strong background as a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager within house building, main contracting or civil engineering.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday, office and site-based as required, with an ASAP start available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support land bids and technical appraisals from an engineering perspective.

• Liaise with consultants, engineers, utilities providers and other external stakeholders.

• Review and challenge drainage strategies, engineering layouts and technical information.

• Produce reports, strategies and supporting technical documentation.

• Provide engineering input across residential schemes from concept to completion.

• Work collaboratively with internal project, technical and commercial teams.

• Help ensure designs are practical, compliant and buildable.

• Support problem-solving and value engineering across live projects.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager.

• Background within house building, main contracting or civil engineering.

• Strong understanding of residential engineering and technical coordination.

• Experience working with external consultants and design teams.

• Able to assess and challenge drainage strategies confidently.

• Skilled in producing clear reports, strategies and technical documentation.

• Comfortable working across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Suitable Experience:

This role would suit someone with previous experience in a similar engineering or technical position within the residential construction sector, particularly where involvement in land bids, design coordination and consultant management has been essential.
