Fire & Security Engineer

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer in Birmingham, to join a well-established national employer with a strong reputation for delivering reliable service across the UK. 

This is a field-based role covering commercial client sites in the Reading, London and Birmingham areas, offering a strong package, excellent support and genuine long-term prospects. 

The Role:

You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown response and repair of a range of fire and security systems across varied commercial environments.

Sites may include retail, hospitality and restaurant settings, so confidence working independently and delivering a professional customer experience is essential. 

This role suits someone who is technically strong, organised and comfortable managing their own workload across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned maintenance, service visits and reactive repairs on fire and security systems.

• Diagnose faults quickly and complete effective repairs on site.

• Respond to breakdowns and restore systems to full working order.

• Work across a range of client premises in a professional and customer-focused manner.

• Complete accurate job notes, service records, and update work progress as required.

• Ensure work is completed safely and in line with company and site procedures.

• Support ongoing system reliability through high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar Fire & Security Engineer role, ideally 3+ years.

• Strong knowledge of fault finding, diagnostics, breakdown response and repairs.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.

• Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients.

Suitable Experience:

This role would suit an engineer with a background in fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control and related security systems. 

Experience working across mixed commercial sites will be highly beneficial, particularly where responsiveness, technical accuracy and customer service are key. 

Candidates who are confident in handling service and breakdown work across a regional patch are likely to thrive in this position.
