HGV Class 1 Driver

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers in the Rotherham area.

The role:

 Collect a loaded vehicle from the yard for a round trip to Bradford.  Starting times vary between 07:00 and 09:00 AM, with completion within a 6-8 hour shift. 

You’ll be responsible for safe, punctual transport of the load, basic vehicle checks, and clear communication with our operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the assigned vehicle from the yard to Bradford and return within the agreed shift window.

• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle checks and report any issues.

• Ensure the load is transported securely and paperwork (PODs/delivery notes) is completed accurately.

• Follow site procedures at collection and delivery locations and maintain professional customer-facing conduct.

• Keep in regular contact with operations regarding ETAs or delays.

Requirements:

• Valid UK driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being supplied.

• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).

• Punctual, reliable and able to follow directions.

• Comfortable working early starts and returning to the yard on the same day.

• Basic literacy to complete delivery paperwork.

Suitable experience:

• Previous experience driving commercially or for a logistics/warehousing business is preferred but not essential for reliable, safety-focused drivers.

• Experience with time-sensitive runs and handling simple paperwork is advantageous.
