HGV Class 1 Driver

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for ongoing general haulage work in the Whittlesey / Peterborough Area, with all-electric vehicles and a mix of curtain side, fridge and bulk tipper movements. 

This is a busy, agency-covered operation offering day and night shifts across the week.

The Role:

You will be completing standard general haulage and lane work for a well-organised operation, with varied loads including wheat, grains and feeds. 

The work is steady and fast-paced, with all shifts covered by agency drivers to support demand across the rota.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Sunday, days and nights. 
• Start times between 05:00–08:00, and 16:00 and 20:00.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out HGV Class 1 deliveries and collections safely and professionally.

• Operate curtain side, fridge and bulk tipper vehicles.

• Transport agricultural and general haulage loads such as wheat, grains and feeds.

• Complete lane work and standard distribution runs.

• Perform vehicle checks and report defects promptly.

• Follow all road transport, working time and site safety requirements.

• Maintain accurate paperwork and delivery records.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

• Current CPC and digital tachograph card.

• Previous HGV driving experience preferred.

• Confident handling of different trailer types.

• Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays as required.

• Good communication and a professional attitude.

Suitable Experience:

This role will suit drivers with experience in general haulage, agricultural haulage, food or feed distribution, trunking, lane work or multi-drop class 1 work. 

Experience with curtain side, fridge or bulk tipper vehicles will be beneficial.
