HGV Class 1 (Tramper Driver)

The role:

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for a reliable and safety-focused HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to carry out traction-only work between fulfilment centres. 

This position involves drop-and-swap trailer movements, planned routes, and professional day-to-day driving in a modern fleet, with a strong emphasis on compliance, vehicle care, and road safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out HGV Class 1 tramping duties on planned routes.
• Complete trailer drop-and-swap movements between fulfilment centres.
• Follow legal driving hours and complete tachograph records accurately.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Maintain a high standard of safety, compliance, and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse teams and site contacts.
• Work flexibly across day and night shifts as required.

Requirements:

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Minimum 1 year of HGV driving experience preferred.
• Maximum 6 penalty points.
• No DD, DR, or IN endorsements.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong time management and road safety awareness.

Suitable Experience:

• Class 1 tramper driver.
• Trunk driver.
• Traction-only driver.
• HGV driver.
• Long-distance or fulfilment centre transport experience.
