HGV Class 2 Driver

The Role

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to support established transport and distribution operations across the Northampton area. Assignments may include local and regional deliveries, multi-drop work, general haulage and collections, depending on operational requirements.

You will be responsible for operating your vehicle safely, completing delivery paperwork accurately and providing a professional service at every customer and site visit.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, with day, night and occasional weekend shifts available depending on the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle safely and responsibly.

• Complete deliveries and collections according to route instructions.

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.

• Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road transport regulations.

• Secure goods correctly during transportation.

• Load and unload products safely where required.

• Complete delivery notes and electronic records accurately.

• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers and site contacts.

• Follow all site, health and safety procedures.

• Maintain a professional standard throughout each assignment.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence.

• Driver CPC qualification.

• Digital tachograph card.

• Recent relevant Class 2 driving experience.

• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.

• Physically capable of assisting with loading and unloading where required.

• Reliable and flexible approach to working hours.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• No more than the permitted number of licence points, subject to insurer requirements.

Suitable Experience

This opportunity would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV C Driver, rigid vehicle driver, multi-drop driver, delivery driver, general haulage driver, collections driver or distribution driver.
