HGV Class 2 Moffett Driver

The Role

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Moffett Drivers to support building materials, construction supply and logistics operations across the Northampton area. You will deliver materials to customer and construction sites while using a truck-mounted forklift to unload goods safely and accurately.

The role requires a professional driver who can work independently, assess delivery locations and operate Moffett equipment confidently in different site conditions.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, daytime shifts, with early starts commonly required. Occasional Saturday work may be available depending on the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle safely and professionally.

• Deliver building materials and other goods to customer and construction sites.

• Operate a truck-mounted Moffett forklift in line with training and site procedures.

• Load, unload and position materials safely at delivery locations.

• Complete daily vehicle and Moffett equipment checks.

• Secure loads correctly before and during each journey.

• Assess access, ground conditions and delivery points before unloading.

• Follow site-specific health and safety requirements.

• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.

• Communicate professionally with customers, site teams and transport planners.

• Report vehicle, equipment or delivery issues promptly.

• Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road transport regulations.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence.

• Driver CPC qualification.

• Digital tachograph card.

• Current Moffett or truck-mounted forklift qualification.

• Recent experience driving Class 2 Moffett vehicles.

• Good understanding of load security and safe unloading procedures.

• Experience delivering to construction sites or builders’ merchants is advantageous.

• Reliable and professional approach.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• No more than the permitted number of licence points, subject to insurer requirements.

Suitable Experience

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 2 Moffett Driver, LGV C Moffett Driver, truck-mounted forklift driver, builders’ merchant delivery driver, building materials delivery driver or construction logistics driver.
