Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home

Role Overview

Blue Recruitment Personnel is recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to take the reins of a children’s residential home in Berkshire, leading its day-to-day operation and ensuring every child receives safe, high-quality, therapeutic care. 

This is a role for someone who can hold regulatory compliance and genuine warmth in the same hand — because here, both matter equally.

You’ll take full ownership of the home’s leadership, its people, and its performance, working within the framework of Ofsted and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 while never losing sight of the young people at the centre of it all.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing overall leadership and operational management of the home

• Maintaining Ofsted registration and full regulatory compliance

• Leading, supervising and developing the staff team

• Ensuring safeguarding, risk management and health and safety standards are consistently met

• Overseeing care planning, placement matching and positive outcomes for children

• Working collaboratively with families, local authorities and external professionals

• Managing budgets, staffing and resources effectively

• Driving continuous improvement and quality assurance

• Participating in the on-call rota and supporting wider operational needs

What You’ll Need

• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent

• Eligibility to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager

• A minimum of two years’ recent management experience within children’s residential care

• Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding practice

• Excellent leadership, communication, financial and people management skills
