Senior Warehouse Operative — Step-Up Team Leader

An excellent role for an experienced warehouse operative ready to take the next step into a supervisory capacity.

The role is predominantly hands-on picking and packing, with regular opportunities to take on team leadership tasks, support daily operations, and develop supervisory skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately pick and pack customer orders to agreed standards and timelines.

• Support day-to-day warehouse activities to keep operations running smoothly.

• Step up into a team leader role when required: organise workload, prioritise tasks and guide colleagues.

• Monitor order progress to ensure on-time completion and quality.

• Use warehouse IT systems and basic Excel to record activity and check information.

• Provide support and practical help to colleagues with routine issues.

• Follow health & safety procedures at all times and maintain good housekeeping.

• Maintain consistent productivity and quality standards.

Essential experience & skills:

• Proven picking and packing experience in a busy warehouse environment.

• Prior experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or Management support role.

• Confident with PCs and basic Excel skills.

• Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.

• Strong communicator with a practical, positive attitude.

• Reliable, detail-focused and willing to support the team when needed.

Shift Pattern:

• Mon–Fri, 06:00–14:00 (some weekend flexibility required)
• Temporary (possible permanent contract after 12 successful weeks)
